Operational measures

Concrete Measures Rather Than Declarations of Intent

  • Cold/hot aisle containment
  • Temperature and humidity monitoring (SLA)
  • Modern building management systems (BMS)
  • Highly efficient air-conditioning systems
  • High level of virtualization and consolidation
  • Energy-efficient lighting
  • Electric vehicles in the fleet

Sustainability

Energy-Efficient Technology

Sustainability starts with the technology itself.

Modern switchgear and drive systems ensure that energy is distributed and used efficiently within the data center — with minimal losses and a high level of operational reliability.

In this way, we combine reliable operation with the responsible use of resources.

Traveling Sustainably

Electric Vehicles in the Fleet

GRASS-MERKUR continues to prioritize sustainability in its day-to-day operations too: its own vehicle fleet is gradually being converted to electric vehicles.

In this way we are reducing CO₂ emissions not only within the data center itself, but also in the associated operational processes — another step on the path to becoming a consistently sustainable company.

Refrigeration technology

Efficient Cooling During Operation

A large proportion of the energy required in a data center is used for cooling.

That is why we rely on highly efficient air-conditioning systems that dissipate heat in a targeted manner and significantly reduce energy consumption. Cold aisle and hot aisle containment ensure that warm and cold airflows remain separate, while continuous monitoring of temperature and humidity keeps operations within the optimum range at all times.

In this way, we combine high availability with a cooling concept that consumes significantly less energy than conventional systems — a key component of our sustainability strategy.
